In August 2003, Harlem United opened a state-of-the-art dental facility that rivals any Park Avenue practice. The Dental Clinic is part of Harlem United's Adult Day HealthCare Center.
The Dental Clinic provides comprehensive quality dental care to persons living with HIV/AIDS in a comfortable and friendly environment. The caring staff has extensive experience with people who have a fear of dental treatment.
Harlem United’s Dental Clinic is grateful for the financial support it obtains—through Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine—from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration (HRSA)’s “Community-Based Dental Partnership Program.”
In addition, Columbia’s College of Dental Medicine also provides 6 to 8 dental residents each academic year to Harlem United. Through their work at Harlem United, these residents receive valuable clinical experience in oral health issues for those with HIV/AIDS and assist the Dental Clinic in providing the highest quality dental services to our clients.
