Runner Spotlight: Adrian Aliberti

Every year, a group of people come together to raise money for Harlem United while running the New York City marathon. It’s an inspiring mix: long-time runners mixed with first-time marathoners, Harlem United staff mixed with local community members mixed with supporters overseas. After this year’s race, Adrian Aliberti, a Harlem United team member from Argentina, sent us this message about his experience running the marathon.

I want to congratulate Harlem United for the HUGE and important social activity that you are doing. It was a real pleasure for me to run for such an important cause! Running the NYC marathon was an amazing experience: beautiful race, nice tour, perfect way to sightsee the city, the solidarity atmosphere pre, during and post race. It was surprising for me to see and feel how people support the race and encourage runners during the whole tour. For sure, I will never forget the NY marathon 2014 for the rest of my life.

Once again, thanks a million for helping me to make this possible.

The race may be over, but you can still donate in support of Adrian’s efforts. If you’d like to run a race in support of Harlem United, let us know! We have guaranteed entry slots for the NYC Marathon and Half-Marathon but you can raise money for any race you’d like.

Underneath the tote bag images, is text that reads "Donate $25 and claim your limited-edition Harlem United tote bag!"
