Public Health Solutions’ Sexual and Reproductive Health Centers are in danger of closing due to an unexpected budget cut of 1.8 million dollars in the New York State executive budget. Harlem United engaged in the critical advocacy effort in a letter asking the NYS legislature to restore this funding.
You can support sexual and reproductive health today by signing the change.org petition, calling on legislators to restore this funding.
Public Health Solutions (PHS) Sexual and Reproductive Health Centers provide essential health services in Brooklyn, NY. Their centers primarily serve women of color, many of whom would not be able to get personalized, patient-centered, compassionate, and free or low-cost health care services elsewhere. They provide prenatal care, gynecological services, and contraceptive counseling and management, as well as health education and social work services. Women of color are disproportionately affected by adverse sexual and reproductive health care outcomes.
